So it looks like I have at least 2 diffeent problems? That effect two different types of games? Same with space pilgrim and the broken sword games. I also found more games that don't work.Īlso: messing around I now see that the Lucas arts games (the dig etc) will play perfect in windowed mode. As far as the DosBox games im completely stumped. I also played around with it myself trying different things. I've tried running the compatibility mode troubleshoot on Windows. Defender is supposed to be off to, but the shield is still in the bottom right hand corner. I do have Kaperski on my PC, but turned it off to try and get this to run. If anyone having trouble with any game ive listed, I can at least tell you what worked for me. YAY!!!!Īnd i just found out: Jedi Knight/Jedi Academy

I'm very bad with Computers and am at a loss for what to do! Using a laptop, i7, 8gb ram, integrated Intel graphics card, running Windows 10. I only realized this because I purchased games today from the summer sale and many will not play.Īlso: Lucas arts games that used to work fine are now playing audio but no picture. I see the whole DosBox logo, the screen goes black, then this error pops up. I'm not really sure when this happened but suddenly anything that used DosBox won't run. Usually someone else has posted about it and I fix it from the suggestions of you fine people. It all works perfectly fine apart from the in-game music.!DOSBox DOS Emulator has stopped working HELP!įirst off, I've never been this desperate to where I had to post about a problem. I don't know why I am getting the videos from the disc but not the music. I then went to: Advisors > Consult High Council and once again I could hear the disc spinning away and I got the videos of them speaking. This option is not available unless the Civilization II CD is in the CDROM drive. The problem was when I was in the game there was no music and when I went to: File > Pick Music, It said: All was good and I had music on the main menu. I could hear the disc spinning in the drive and then saw the opening video. I then started Civilization II, keeping in mind my disc was still mounted and in the drive. I went through the setup process with no problems whatsoever. I went back into Windows 3.1, went into file manager, and started setup.exe.
